£1 Million for Streatham Common

£1 Million for Streatham Common

Following our successful campaign last year about the need for a better playground and facilities on the common we are hoping that this will shortly become one of the council’s priorities.

The Council is currently consulting on the Lambeth parks five-year investment plan and thanks to many local people, there's now a plan to invest £1 million into Streatham Common to re-develop the playground and yard area.

The details of the redevelopment have not yet been finalised but the idea is to develop the existing playground to create a new playground with extra facilities covering a wider age range and rebuild the yard area to provide changing rooms, a community room and a small cafe as well as replacing the existing toilets.

We need as many people as possible to support the funding proposals.  You can do this by sending a short (or longer if you wish) email to [email protected] supporting the scheme by 5pm Friday 31st October.

We'll start the detailed consultation on the draft scheme created by the Landscape Architects once we've ensured that the scheme is in the five year investment plan.
