Gatekeeper & Monthly Market/Events Support
The Streatham Common Co-operative (SCCoop) are a not-for-profit organisation responsible for the management of the Rookery and conservation across Streatham Common. We are a friendly organisation, and we are currently looking for a part time gatekeeper to join our team. You will help us with basic tasks around the site with particular emphasis on opening and closing the Rookery on a shifting rota basis.
This role would ideally suit a local Streatham based student, retired or semi-retired person or someone who is looking for part time flexible working arrangements. To start ASAP.

Employment: Part time
Hours: Sunday 2.5hrs min, 1hr for opening at 0730 and 1.5hrs for close (see below).
3rd Saturday of the month Feb – November 7 hours min (see below)
Additional hours will be available for holiday cover. The candidate will need to be flexible to support this.

Salary: We will pay the London Living Wage of £10.85 per hour

Brief Job Description
You will help the team opening the and closing the Rookery, checking the gardens, litter picking and emptying the bins. As part of a small team there can be opportunities to help with other activities throughout the year.
We would also require you to provide support at the monthly Farmers Market. Duties would include assisting with set up for the market and ensuring traders have electricity where required, litter picking and emptying bins as required throughout the day and assisting with any queries from traders, assisting with the clear down at the end of the market and ensuring all SCCoop equipment (electricity reels, tables) are returned to the storeroom. We are looking for someone who may also be willing to help out on the SCCoop Plant stall periodically during the day when this is running. We will require you to be on site from 8am and the market runs from 10am to 3pm.
The Rookery is open from 7.30am and closes just before dusk in the evenings, 7 days a week. Of course, due to seasonal changes, closing times vary throughout the year and can be as late as 9.30pm in high summer. You will be expected to cover these opening/closing times during your agreed shifts.
We will provide full training.
