The Streatham Common Co-operative (SCCoop) is a social enterprise owned by the local community www.sccoop.org.uk . We manage The Rookery Gardens, a Grade 2 Heritage Listed garden on Streatham Common and the conversation on Streatham Common. Since 2016 we have managed the popular Paddling Pool which is next to the Rookery Gardens on Streatham Common, which was due to close following cuts in council budgets. The pool is now generously funded by the local community though appeals and other fundraising events.

Hours:
Monday 7.30am-11.30am – Full cleaning day & open
Tuesday 9am-10am – Litter pick, check & open
Wednesday 9am-10am – Litter pick, check & open
Thursday 9am-10am & 7pm-8pm – Close day, litter pick and drain.
Friday 7.30am-11.30am – Full cleaning day & open
Saturday 9am -10am – Litter pick, check & open

This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about their local community and who wants to help us keep the cherished Paddling Pool looking great all Summer.
The Pool Operator is responsible for, and accountable to the Rookery Park Manager:
1. Daily litter picking the site
2. Full clean and drain twice weekly and as required - due to the nature of the infrastructure of the pool cleaning has to be undertaken by hose-pipe and broom. Initial training will be given.
3. Daily safety check and opening of the pool gate and maintenance of the drain, pump and machine room.
4. Assisting other staff with the running of the Rookery Gardens if required
5. Pool operations training and professional maintenance support will be provided.
6. Holiday agreed prior to start.
7. An additional hour may be needed on occasional busy days
About you:
• You must be a reliable person who can commit to the hours and site cleaning.
• You should be a self-starter who can demonstrate you are conscientious with the ability to undertake work of a physical nature because you will have the responsibility of keeping the paddling pool clean so it can open all summer.
• Problem solver with operational experience would be great.
• An understanding of the issues relating to work in an historic environment.
• Positive attitude with good communications skills willing to take good care of the operational machinery and equipment.
• DBS checked.
• Any plumbing experience would be a bonus.
